WORKFLOW RECIPE

Automate social media posts

A repeatable workflow for turning approved topics into reviewed, scheduled social posts.

Workflow map

Source → AI draft → human review → scheduler → performance data

Core tools: Make or Zapier for automation, ChatGPT or Claude for drafting, and a social scheduling platform for publishing.

STEP 1 · INPUT

Collect topics

Pull ideas from RSS feeds, product announcements, an editorial database or a manually approved topic list. Save the title, source URL, date and topic.

STEP 2 · AI

Create the draft

Send the approved topic to your AI assistant with the target platform, audience, tone, character limit and source URL. Ask it to separate verified facts from suggestions.

STEP 3 · REVIEW

Approve the content

Check names, dates, claims, links, formatting and disclosure requirements. Keep human approval before automatic publishing.

STEP 4 · OUTPUT

Schedule the post

Pass the approved copy, media URL and publish time to your scheduling tool. Store the returned post ID so the automation can track it.

STEP 5 · FEEDBACK

Record performance

Capture available metrics such as clicks, reach and engagement. Use the data to refine topics and prompts rather than automatically reposting weak content.

Automation logic

  1. New approved topic enters the workflow.
  2. AI creates a structured draft.
  3. Draft waits for approval.
  4. Approved content is scheduled.
  5. Publishing and performance IDs are saved.

Tool features and platform limits change. Check provider documentation before connecting accounts or enabling automatic publishing.
